Attention freelancers, consultants and small businesses: Intervals has just what you need, a streamlined, down-to-earth affordable collaboration tool. They even offer a functional free version to individuals and freelancers which will support one project and four users.
Intervals offers five different packages. For the purpose of this review we looked at the Basic package which is $20 per month and supports up to 15 projects, 1 GB of document storage, an unlimited number of users, unlimited invoicing and unlimited milestones. The Top Shelf package, their most comprehensive and largest storage limit, is $175 per month and supports unlimited projects, users, invoicing and milestones and 15GB of document storage as well as personalization ability, work request tools and 256-bit encryption.
This project management service offers a functional and capable online project management service, which is efficient and easy to use. We think it is a great product, especially for small businesses, freelancers and other small organizations, It is ideal for companies that do event planning, fund raising, convention planning and the like, which may involve a group of consultants or a group of organizations that come together to work on a project. Of course Intervals will also work for large, in-office type businesses, but one of the main goals of Intervals is to get you out of the office and free you from being chained to your desk. And for small businesses on a tight budget, the invoicing tool and client database negates the need for additional software to cover these areas.
Intervals Standout Features:
Intervals provides a full Internet-based project management service that does not require you to download any software and all plans support an unlimited number of users. For sharing with people who do not use Intervals data can be exported as a CSV file or as PDFs, reports can be emailed and printed as well. They also support a client login, so clients can upload tasks or project requests and they can attach documents.
They do not however provide a forum module or RSS feeds, but you can easily create notes and email other team members.
This is a bit of a weak spot with this service since it does not provide a way to manage physical resources, like computers, company cars, projectors, equipment or supplies. It also does not have a place for tracking talent, you can add notes to a member or categorize users, but it does not have a place for tracking talents, skills and abilities.
On the positive side it can keep track of email addresses, has great time tracking and time sheets. Intervals can also track costs and can collect a fair amount of client and user information, even images.
