GDC 2009: Nintendo Announces Increased Wii Storage Capacity

We're keeping an eye on the Game Developers Conference Nintendo keynote this morning, and we're happy to report something big for Wii owners: Increased storage capacity!
How? When? Read on.
With Nintendo's Wii System Menu 4.0, you can now hold up to 240 individual games on a single SD card. Not just any SD card, a HIGH CAPACITY SD card. That's right, soon the Wii will be able to read high capacity SD cards!
How soon? TODAY. Download the new Wii System Menu and plug in your SD cards. Download, store, and launch Wii content directly to a high capacity SD card. The days of running short on Wii system memory are gone. Join me in a big, bellowing "HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!"
Maybe we can even toss a few movies on an SD card, or stream from Netflix? Can the Wii become your entertainment hub?
That's not all. Nintendo also announced Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and My Life as a Dark Lord coming soon to WiiWare. Final Fantasy I and IV will be available soon in the U.S. via the virtual console; more details to come from Square Enix later this week.
